I was invited to a wedding of a good friend of mine, a lavish Indian Bollywood wedding in Portugal of all places! Complicated story but the reason why is that Gujaratis happen to have a diaspora everywhere and their people from Mozambique moved to Portugal in the late 70s after the independence.
Oporto is blessed with an incredible world heritage site on the banks of the river Douro, with on one side the quaint buildings of the old city and on the other side the numerous cellar where Port is aged and bottled. The whole picture is framed by the impressive bridge Don Luis famously designed by Eiffel (the guy from that somewhat famous tower in Paris). And for a quiet relaxing break from all the ceremonies of an Indian wedding you can always dip your foot in the Atlantic with the beach a mere 10min ride from the city centre.
